I had a good time getting some henna on my hands the night before and the next morning the pattern was dark soooo he loves me a lot ;) I think my favorite part of Eid would be going

to the mosque early in the morning it was really crowded but I had a great time and everyone was in good spirits. I felt something while I was praying for the first time I truly feel I can find peace in this religion.

I only hope I can be strong enough to commit to my faith despite what others think and say, since my Baptist Christian mother is less then thrilled and my brother makes in fun of me.

Has anyone ever inspired you to explore a culture or anything really you never thought you would? I love that about dating someone diffrent from you, they challenge you to broaden your horizons.

I still think Christmas is better...but to those you celebrate I hope you had a nice Eid with your family and loved ones.

That was way to depressing to leave off on that note sooooooo I found a website based solely on interracial dating!! Yay for the educated people who are cultured enough to venture outside the box and see people other then their won race/sex/greed/ etc.

I don't think its a big deal to date someone outside your own race but for some families its considered taboo. I'm planning on reading the Quran soon after researching Islam for the past four months. I'm nervous though because I know my family isn't going to like it.

I think it's unfair how my mom didn't say anything when my brother was interested in Judaism but my family likes to pick on me about either my boyfriend or me converting. They don't take our relationship seriously and my boyfriend's family is going to *hopefully*

ask for my hand...but they want to do things culturally and ask my mom and my brother if he can marry me. I'm afraid my family would humiliate me in front of his family, my twin brother already told me he won't go if we get married and he would try to prevent us from being together.

I've told all of this to my boyfriend and he tells me not to worry but it's something thats always on my mind. I have a sinking feeling that if I convert I could find happiness and feel like my life has a purpose but I would most likely lose my family.

But he accepted into his. I have never felt comfortable or happy with Christianity I don't want to read a bible that has been abridged my man and I don't want to sit through a sermon crafted to resemble "survivor" so that it's more interesting. I don't want to know that my donations paid for the new plasma TVs in the lobby of the church.

I have a strong feeling things are going to change soon and for the better :D It's my personal goal to get engaged in 6 months. Starting October so I'm praying for March it's fitting because our birthdays are during that month and it would be so romantic. Pray for me guys.

Salam everyone its me again. I do hope at least a few people read this. I read a statistic that 98% or so of all internet posters are lurkers. Lurking is fine with me but if you agree/disagree with something feel free to comment.

I went to visit my boyfriend in his store today. He and his older brother own a mens clothing store it's really nice. They carry dress shirts for fancy occasions and for everyday wear. It's new they opened it last month in the South Bay Galleria mall.

Anyways back to my story I was running errands in the mall with my mom and I decided to pop in his store to see my boyfriend. His brother was behind the counter and told to that my bache was in the back. I went to the stock room to see him and we were just talking and he saved me some manto

from his lunch earlier so we decided to heat it up and while we were waiting he suddenly he stiffened and grabbed a prayer mat he keeps on a shelf and lays if out on the floor.

I didn't know what he was doing so I asked him if he was going to pray and his Dad came to the store and was about to pray. For some reason I feel embarrassed if I just stand around while someone prays so I prefer to leave the room. My boyfriend got mad that I didn't stay in the stock room but I greeted his Dad once he finished.

His parents know were dating but I'm afraid they'll some day decide they don't like me any more or they don't want us to be together and tell him to leave me. I know he loves me but I would never make him choose me over his family. So I try hard to stay on their good side.

I hope his Dad didn't think wrong of us because we were alone back their but we were just eating. His brother teased me about it so I don't think he was offended.

Well Ramadan is coming to an end as of next Wednesday and then it's Eid I was wondering how everyone plans on celebrating? I've been invited to come to by boyfriends house and they said I could go to the mosque with him if I wanted to but I don't have to.

I would want to go so that I can gather more information on Islam but the last time I went people looked at me like I was an intruder. I feel kinda left out but I'm still willing to try. I'm surprised at how negative everyones reaction was when they found out I was interested in converting. I'm worried my boyfriends family will think I'm doing this just
for him.

I need to go to Artesia soon to get an outfit I'm thinking about wearing a burgundy colored salwar kameez even though his family is Afghani they sometimes wear Indian clothes. 204);font-family:lucida grande;" >This is an issue that haunts me and I wonder if it ever bothers anyone. Now assuming people in an interracial relationship are actually reading this and agreeing or disagreeing (if you fit in either one if these categories you should comment ;) Have you ever watched a foreign wedding?

Now lately I've been watching a lot because my boyfriends mom has like 5 sisters who all got married and had kids who are grown up. That means Afghani weddings from Australia, Germany, India, Pakistan, and of course Afghanistan. So far in my opinion the weddings that took place in the US are the nicest my next favorite would be Germany.

What depresses me is that out of all the weddings I've seen none of them have been to someone outside their race. His sister pointed out his mom's cousin married a white guy who's Christian but in the next breath she added then again her parents are dead so they never had to see that day. Greeeeat just the support I was looking for.

I know it's stupid it be pouting over all of this seeing as my boyfriend and I aren't even engaged and though he says he wants us to get married soon I'm highly doubtful. I don't know how to explain it 19 is waaaay to young to be running to the alter but it bothers me for some reason. If I wasted three years of my life for no reason I'm going to be very angry...

Hello again dear readers...or reader since this blog is fairly new and I don't think has many followers...yet. I wanted to discuss in this post what I hope are helpful tips in having a successful and fulfilling relationship with middle eastern guys in specific. But these tips can apply to everyone. First of all always be attentive to your man. Theres nothing a guy hates more then being ignored. Trust me these guys need a lot of attention. DO NOT IGNORE THERE TEXT MESSAGES! oh my they will automatically assume your up to no good ;) which will lead to a fight trust me on this one.

Secondly there a tad bit on the possessive side but thats kinda inbred since birth so good luck changing that. Along with that comes jealously and a little bit is healthy it shows you care but too much kills the relationship. If your guys is overly jealous and possessive yikes try sitting him down and talking about it before you bail.

Don't get offended if your guy doesn't invite you to his house or to meet his parents early on in the relationship in most middle eastern cultures you don't bring girls home unless you want to marry them. But also be cautious if hes avoiding the subject all together he could just be playing with you.

Understand that if the two of you want to get married and your both diffrent faiths these guys are expected to marry a Muslim girl, but converting just to be with someone won't bring you happiness.

His parents expect you to be a virgin and they will want proof on the wedding night if you've had other sexual partners be upfront about it with him cuz if he find out on the wedding night his family will consider your marriage null and void. Especially if your American unfortunately theres a lot of negative stereotypes about how loose we are.

Just beware they tend to be players most of them grew up in conservative countries and when they get to go clubbing, dating, parting, etc they kinda go buck wild for a while but most calm down.

On to more positive stuff! I didn't make this blog to hate on middle eastern guys. Once their in love thats it for them they stay in love at least most Afghani guys do. Now these are all my personal opinions gained by experience and research ;D

Happy Ramadan everyone! I personally am not Muslim but I plan on converting one day when I feel I have researched Islam throughly and read the Quran several times.

Usually when most people find out I'm interested and open to converting they assume I want to for my boyfriend. Now granted if it were'nt for him I would have probably never taken an interest in his culture or religion but he has opened my eyes to a lot of new things and for that I am grateful.

I know better then to convert just to be accpeted by his family or friends. Religion isn't something to be taken lightly or as a fad. That is a crucial factor when dating someone from a diffrent culture.

7 mistakes

7 fatal mistakes of interracial couple:

1.Disrespecting one anothers culture and religion.

2.Laughing at his/hers less then perfect pronounciation (if he/she has an accent)

3.Not being adaptable or willing to try new customs

4.His/her parents may not take your relationship seriousely

5.Cultural misunderstandings

6.In some cultures dating outside ones race is considered taboo

7.Being together for an extended period of time only to find out the two of you can never be together.
